An Even Greater Edge After Estate Taxes
Roths can build significantly more wealth than traditional IRAs for many investors. What is less well-known is that Roths can work better after accounting for estate taxes, which seem set to return in 2011 as Congress reconsiders the Tax Code. The Roth advantage can apply to investors with both longer and shorter time horizons, and especially for IRAs “stretched” to younger-generation heirs.
